GTA 6: Rockstar Reveals a $399.99 Collector’s Set (Game Sold Separately)
A gator figurine puffing a cigarette, Oakley sunglasses, a cocktail spoon, and a razor blade keychain. Welcome to the GTA 6 collector’s box at $400, where you get absolutely everything—except the game itself.
Rockstar Games has never hidden its love for bold merch drops. The Red Dead Redemption 2 collector’s set set the tone back in 2018, and now the publisher is back at it with The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, up for preorder on November 19, the day GTA 6 launches. It’s an 11-kilo package, 11 themed items inspired by a fictional Leonida TV series, and a $399.99 price tag—plus the cost of the game, sold separately. After those limited edition DualSense controllers, Rockstar’s money machine is running full throttle.

$399.99 for a collector’s box… without the game inside
Let’s get one thing straight: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection isn’t a collector’s edition in the classic sense. No copy of GTA 6 in the box, and not even a download code. Rockstar calls it a “premium collectible set” sold exclusively on its online store, in limited quantities.

So, if you want to play GTA 6 on November 19, you’ll need to shell out another $79.99 for the standard edition—or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Getting into the Rockstar ecosystem has never cost more.
What you actually get for $400
The set revolves around Macca the Gator, a fictional TV show from the state of Leonida that players will discover in GTA 6. It all comes in a glossy black box stamped with the Leonida logo and the iconic “VI.” Inside, 11 items that range from unapologetic gadgets to legit collectibles:
- A 15 cm Macca the Gator figurine with a secret compartment in the base
- Matte black Oakley Frogskins with Prizm Sapphire lenses (retail value: about $200)
- A Vice City-themed New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback cap (about $50 value)
- A magnetic mirror, engraved cocktail spoon, and razor blade keychain
- A crossbody bag, Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, enamel pin set, and premium stickers
- A double-sided poster, with the full Leonida map on the back
This last item might be the real gem. GTA 6 won’t have a physical disc edition, so this poster could be the only way to get a paper map of the open world—a tradition for the series. Some designs are straight callbacks to GTA Vice City, especially the pin tin that echoes the iconic original cover art. A nostalgic wink for the game that’ll need a PS5 Pro to hit 60 FPS.
Community reaction: outrage meets resignation
The backlash was instant. On social media, the price tag is fueling frustration. “$400 for an ugly statue, cheap caps, a shot glass, and not even the game? That’s wild,” summed up one user. Another compared it to the Cyberpunk 2077 collector’s edition, which included the game and more content for £100 less. “I’d have gone up to £200, but I just can’t justify that price,” they admitted. For French buyers, add another $21 for shipping, pushing the bill over $420—still without the game.
Despite the grumbling, the box will probably sell like hotcakes. Rockstar says stock is limited, and for now, you can’t buy the items separately. Leaks on GTAForums hint that T-shirts, tote bags, and more caps are coming soon to the store. Rockstar keeps dropping GTA 6 news, and the merch game is clearly just getting started.
The irony’s hard to miss: the most anticipated game of the decade won’t get a physical disc, but its publisher is happy to sell 11 kilos of swag for $400. Rockstar’s strategy is crystal clear—turn GTA 6 into a lifestyle brand way beyond gaming. The real question: how long will fans keep paying top dollar for everything around the game—except the game itself?
