PS Plus: Sony Reveals June’s Free Games Early (and Goes All-In on Co-op)
Sony is dropping the June 2026 PS Plus Essential lineup a day early. On the menu: backyard survival, Nickelodeon brawls, and heretic-purging in the grimdark world of Warhammer 40K. This month, it’s all about co-op.
Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be available from June 2 to July 6 for all subscribers. The announcement lands right in the middle of Days of Play—and just days after a price hike that ruffled plenty of feathers. Sony seems determined to make it up to players with a lineup laser-focused on multiplayer, just in time for summer.

Grounded Fully Yoked Edition — Obsidian turns your backyard into a survival playground
This is hands-down the most intriguing pick of the bunch. Grounded Fully Yoked Edition (PS5/PS4) shrinks you down to ant size and tosses you into a backyard that’s now a wild, dangerous ecosystem. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment—the minds behind Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds—it’s a blend of crafting, base-building, and epic showdowns with spiders, bees, and other now-gigantic bugs. Best of all, it’s built for up to four-player co-op—perfect fuel for those summer gaming nights.
The “Fully Yoked Edition” tag isn’t just for show: this version packs in every update and DLC released since launch. The concept—a mashup of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and pure survival—already won hearts on Xbox and PC. Now, with its PS Plus debut, PlayStation players get access to a game that’s only gotten better with time. After Spider-Man 2 hit PS Plus in February, Sony keeps doubling down on games with real personality to boost its service.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide — Co-op FPS from the Vermintide creators
Warhammer 40K fans, suit up—no extra charge required. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (PS5 only) is a co-op FPS from Fatshark, the Swedish studio that nailed it with the two Vermintide games. This time, you’re swapping out Old World rat-men for heretics and mutants in a hive city gone bad, all wrapped in the signature dark, oppressive 40K vibe. Up to four players become “Rejects” from Imperial society, sent to the front lines to purge endless waves of enemies in frantic missions.
The game took some flak at launch in late 2022 for being light on content and heavy on bugs. But Fatshark has seriously leveled up the experience since then: new classes, extra missions, and a revamped progression system. By 2026, Darktide is a much beefier, more polished beast. Its arrival on PS Plus is perfect timing to fill up the servers and give newcomers a brutal taste of Games Workshop’s universe.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 — Cartoon chaos for the whole family
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 (PS5/PS4) rounds out the lineup with something lighter but just as multiplayer-focused. The pitch: a Super Smash Bros.-style brawler starring SpongeBob, the Ninja Turtles, Aang from Avatar, and a whole crew of Nickelodeon icons. Compared to the 2021 original, this sequel steps up with official voice acting, a solo campaign mode, and way more refined combat mechanics.
It’s not trying to dethrone Nintendo’s juggernaut, but Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 nails its role as a fun, accessible family fighter. With local multiplayer, it’s the kind of game that can keep a whole afternoon buzzing with zero stress. Smart move by Sony to broaden the lineup’s appeal beyond the hardcore crowd.
All three June games will be available from June 2 to July 6. Meanwhile, EA Sports FC 26 is still up for grabs as the monthly game until June 16, and Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (including The Final Shape expansion) joins the Game Catalog Extra/Premium on June 9. It’s all part of Days of Play, Sony’s promo event running May 27 to June 10 with discounts on games and accessories. More catalog additions are expected to be announced later this month, keeping things interesting despite the recent price hike that kicked in on May 20.
