This Star Wars Game Rated 88/100 Is Now Free for Amazon Prime Members
No console needed, no downloads, no credit card required. Starting today, Amazon Prime members can dive into the underground circuits of the Galactic League without spending a single Republic credit.
2026 is shaping up to be a banner year for Star Wars games. After Star Wars Zero Company, which launched just six weeks ago, it’s now Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s turn to hit the scene—with a Metascore of 88 that rockets it into the franchise’s top five. Developed by Fuse Games, a studio founded by Burnout and Need for Speed veterans, this roguelike racer is now free to play via Amazon Luna for Prime members.

How to play Galactic Racer for free on Amazon Luna
It couldn’t be easier. If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, just head to Amazon Luna on a compatible browser, Fire TV, or the mobile app. No console required, no files to download: the game streams instantly, and you can launch your first race in seconds. Jeff Gattis, Head of Gaming at Amazon, sums up the service’s philosophy: “Luna players can jump into the solo campaign today without owning a console or waiting for a long download. That’s exactly the kind of experience we want to offer on Luna.”
There are some limits, though. Here’s what’s free on Luna:
- The full solo campaign
- Arcade mode (quick, focused races)
- Scenarios (races with unique builds, rules, and characters not found in the campaign)
Online multiplayer is still reserved for those who buy the game at $60 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or PC. Star Wars: Galactic Racer joins Star Wars Outlaws in the Luna library, while Star Wars Jedi 3 is already teased for 2027.
A roguelike racer winning over critics
Star Wars: Galactic Racer isn’t just another straight-line racing game. Set at the dawn of the New Republic era, it throws you into the Galactic League—a secret circuit where every run could end in a spectacular explosion or a triumphant win. Roguelike mechanics make every attempt unique: pick upgrades between races, manage risk, and adapt on the fly. The blend of raw speed and tactical choices creates a viciously addictive gameplay loop that critics have raved about.
Jordan Ramée, reviewing for GameSpot, calls it “those ten absolutely perfect minutes stretched into a full game. Every moment delivers a rush of pure speed. Every decision carries real tension. And every run is a rewarding chance to learn, improve, experiment, and adapt.” Oli Welsh at Polygon dubs it “the best arcade racing game of a generation,” highlighting that “when it clicks, the adrenaline rush is unmatched. It’s a game of both blistering speed and tactical finesse, where smart use of your abilities matters as much as your reflexes.”
Multiplayer gets a boost with upcoming update
While the solo mode is a hit, multiplayer sparked some frustration right out of the gate. The current party limit is capped at three players, making group sessions tricky. Fuse Games responded fast: on the game’s official X account, the studio confirmed they’re working on an update to double the limit from three to six players per group. The rollout is planned for the first weeks after launch.

With six players, half a lobby can be filled with handpicked friends and rivals. There’s no word yet on private lobbies, but Fuse Games’ quick response to community feedback hints at strong post-launch support.
Between Star Wars Zero Company making waves this fall and Galactic Racer staking its claim as one of the franchise’s top five on Metacritic, 2026 is a feast for fans of the galaxy far, far away. For Prime members, the chance to try this one for free is just too good to pass up.
